Purchasing & Logistics Areas is one of eight organizational units under IKEA Supply, which is one of the core businesses of Inter IKEA Group. IKEA Supply has the responsibility to produce and supply IKEA stores with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. The total product range is almost 10,000 products. We have about 1500 suppliers worldwide in 50 countries who are manufacturing IKEA products.

To lead the engineering product design development and execute engineering activities within News, Improves or Operational Maintenance
About the Function :
“The product range – our identity” and the Development Team is one of the most important capability to ensure that our product range offer lives up to the IKEA vision.
Lead execution of technical deliverables to drive lower cost and to boost speed and effectiveness. Identify and develop technical concepts and solutions based on customer needs and requirements. Create technical plan and contribute to product design from a technical perspective, in all dimensions of the democratic design, including production, shared and standard solutions. Enable collaboration and involvement of engineering competences in the value chain. Manage technical project issues/risks in a systematic way, facilitate escalation and apply corrective actions. Drive the product development forward ensuring the optimization, verification and validation of all technical product aspects before implementation in production. Enable and secure development partners and suppliers contribution to the product development from a technical perspective. Perform product risk assessments together with relevant competences. Host effective engineering team meetings and workshops and connect daily tasks to project goals, to secure that the engineering team remains focused and has the pre-conditions to execute the technical deliverables. Implement the IKEA circular and material roadmaps Execute and/or contribute to operational activities within product development, product improvements and running range.
University Degree in Engineering or equivalent Fluent in English, both spoken and written Project management (planning, execution, risk management, agile) Relevant knowledge within product development and production Product Area: requirements, market, customer, technical solutions and innovation Product engineering, such as design for cost, circularity, manufacturing Knowledge in digital tools (computer aided engineering, simulation, prototyping) Product documentation and verification methods Supply chain knowledge (cost drivers, production technologies, materials, handling of goods) IKEA specific: IKEA vision, Democratic Design, RPD processes, IKEA business model and IKEA value chain.
